Lindberg’s Lineage Dates back to a Husband and Wife Team of Opticians

Lindberg Eyewear, a Danish and Independent Eyewear brand, started by Poul-Jørn & Hanne Lindberg has joined forces with Kering.  The husband and wife team started a iconic eyewear brand that now has over 50 years of experience and now it’s powerful force with the Kering Group has been announced today.  Lindberg eyewear joins a strong repertoire of well-known brands in the industry including Gucci, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, & Bottega Veneta to name a few.

Kering has been running very strong since it’s inception in 2014. Kering’s primary shareholder Artémis owns roughly 40.9% of the company, while the rest is spread amongst Investors.  Artémis has shown strong numbers, and this backing could lead to an even brighter future for Lindberg, with sales over to $15 Billion in 2018.  The acquisition of Lindberg brings an eyewear brand that has distributed eyewear in over 100 countries to Men, Women, & Children.   The eyewear brand has fit a pedigree of celebrities and royalty over the years. Including Sir Elton John, Meryl Streep, Kourtney Kardashian, Brad Pitt, Bill Gates, Robert De Niro, Princess Beatrix, & Queen Elizabeth.

The craftmanship started in Århus by the husband and wife team, Poul-Jørn & Hanne.  Shortly, after the venture to create eyewear they took their innovations to a new level after partnering with Hans Dissing (architect) to together become the first opticians to make hand crafted eyewear out of titanium.  Lindberg has sought to improve their craftsmanship year after year with innovative and dedicated research.  Henrik Lindberg, to this day, still designs and approves each frame while managing his family’s company.   The Lindberg company also makes frames from precious and rare materials such as wood, ox & buffalo horn, gold, platinum, and precious stones.  Recently, they released “Thintanium” an even newer, thinner, and lighter weight pair of eyewear.

With a long lineage of history and craftmanship, what does the future hold for Lindberg?
