Refund Policy
Cancellations, refunds, failed payments, and chargebacks — explained without the hedging.

1. Subscription Refunds
The View Eyewear sells subscriptions, not one-off purchases. Here is how refunds work:
- Monthly plans — the current billed period is non-refundable. You keep access until the end of that period and then drop to the free tier.
- Annual plans — if you cancel within the first 30 days, we issue a pro-rated refund for the unused portion. After 30 days, annual plans are non-refundable.
Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe and typically settle within 5 to 10 business days.
2. How to Cancel
Cancellation is self-serve. Sign in and go to /portal/billing. The Stripe customer portal handles it directly — we never need a phone call or a "retention specialist." If you run into trouble, email andy@gazaleyewear.com and we will cancel it for you.
3. What Happens After Cancellation
- Your paid features stay live until the end of the current billing period.
- After that, the account downgrades to the free tier.
- Your free listing remains indexed in our directory, but loses paid features: enhanced photos, frame-vault, priority placement, and monthly performance reports.
- Your uploaded content stays under your control — you can delete it at any time, or upgrade again later and pick up where you left off.
4. Failed Payments
We use Stripe Smart Retries. If your card is declined, Stripe will try again up to three times over about a week. We will email you on each failure. After the third failure, the account auto-downgrades to free. You can update your card in the billing portal at any time and resume your plan.
5. Disputes and Chargebacks
If something is wrong, please email us first. We typically resolve billing questions within 5 business days. Most refund requests are simple and we honor them.
Initiating a chargeback through your bank without contacting us first will result in immediate account termination and may make you ineligible for future subscriptions. Chargebacks cost both sides money and we would rather just talk it through.
6. Custom Upgrades and Overages
Premium plan features — including the brand portal frame-vault, photo uploads, and priority placement — are bundled. There are no overage charges, no surprise invoices, and no per-frame fees. What you see on the pricing page is what you pay.
7. Plan Changes Mid-Cycle
- Upgrade (Partner to Premium) — pro-rated immediately. You are charged the difference for the rest of the period.
- Downgrade (Premium to Partner) — takes effect at the next renewal. No partial refund.
- Switch from monthly to annual — pro-rated credit applied to the annual charge.
8. Free Tier
The free tier is free. There is nothing to refund. You can stay on it for as long as you like.
