The LOFT Eyewear Show

New York & Santa Monica, USA

Abstract dual-coast illustration of New York and California with eyewear motif, dark green and gold palette

LOFT is the longest-running independent eyewear show in the Americas, running since 2000. It's built specifically for optical boutique owners and independent designers — not a generic mass-market optical trade floor.

It runs twice a year on opposite coasts: a New York edition (Chelsea Industrial / High Line Nine) each spring, and a Santa Monica edition in the fall.

Longevity and Focus

LOFT has run since 2000, making it the longest-running independent eyewear show in the Americas. In an industry where trade-show formats come and go, over two decades of continuous operation says something about the audience it built — it's deliberately narrow, built specifically for optical boutique owners and independent designers, positioning itself as the alternative to larger, mass-market optical trade shows.

Two Coasts, Two Seasons

LOFT runs twice a year on opposite coasts rather than as a single annual event: a New York edition each spring at Chelsea Industrial/High Line Nine, and a Santa Monica edition each fall at the historic Santa Monica Post Office. That split means an East Coast boutique or a West Coast one each gets a version of the show within reasonable travel distance, without needing to cross the country to attend at all.

What's on the Floor

The New York edition has featured 150+ independent eyewear collections in recent years — a curated pool of independent brands rather than a handful scattered among larger mass-market exhibitors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is LOFT for?

Optical boutique owners and independent eyewear designers specifically — it's positioned as the independent alternative to the larger mass-market trade shows, not a general optical industry event.

Does LOFT run more than once a year?

Yes, twice — a New York edition each spring and a Santa Monica, CA edition later in the year, giving both coasts a dedicated event.

How many brands show at LOFT?

150+ independent eyewear collections at the New York edition in recent years.

What's the difference between LOFT's New York and Santa Monica editions?

They're separate events with separate exhibitor lineups — New York runs each spring at Chelsea Industrial/High Line Nine, and Santa Monica runs each fall at the historic Santa Monica Post Office. Buyers pick the coast (or season) that fits their travel and buying calendar.

Is LOFT a fit for a boutique that doesn't carry mass-market eyewear brands?

Yes — that's specifically who it's built for. LOFT positions itself against larger mass-market shows, curating its floor around independent designers and boutique-aligned collections rather than general optical industry exhibitors.
