About Oliver Goldsmith

Founded in 1926 in London by Philip Oliver Goldsmith, initially producing handmade tortoiseshell frames; his son Charles "Oliver" Goldsmith later took the brand into fashion-forward territory with hand-painted acetate novelty designs and Paris couture collaborations (Dior, Givenchy). The brand's "Manhattan" sunglasses were worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Sunglasses production paused in 1985 and was revived in 2005 by the founder's great-granddaughter, Claire Goldsmith.
